The exclusive look that walnut can endow on a window can be achieved either by using an expensive piece of solid wood or by using a very expensive process which can create a convincing and rich colouring of the window material. Depending on the actual material used for the window frame – wood, PVC or aluminium – the final colour look can be applied using a varnish, powder coating or decor foil on the product. Clearly any of these techniques can be applied to doors as well as windows. Accordingly, wood doors are coated using a door varnish in order to achieve the desired hue. The results here, do however depend largely on the type of wood and can vary somewhat. Should windows and doors have precisely the same shade of walnut then the frame material must be considered carefully.
As each particular type of wood will have different results on staining it is not simply a question of going to your local DIY store for a tin of paint or varnish. At Windows24.com you have the following wood types to choose from:
When you select any pine products or if you choose meranti then walnut is the default colour of choice in the order process. However, it must be kept in mind that the base colouration will mean the end colour will vary to some extent. PVC profiles – fitted with a multi-chamber system for optimum thermal insulation – can just as easily be given that walnut look and blend in with the overall impression the house displays. The dark colour tone of windows with a walnut look evokes images of an exclusive interior, which can be accentuated with the right combination of extras.
